Beauty of Italy

There are so many countries around the world, but there is one country that really catches my attention: Italy. Italy is situated in Europe on the world map. People say the map of Italy resembles a boot. There are different climate types throughout the country. For instance, a Mediterranean climate and culture can be seen on the southern coast. Also, the Alps are located along the northern side of Italy.

We can say Italy is really colorful thanks to its different climate types and various cultures. The country is also rich in historical places, art pieces, and architectural monuments. One of these is in the capital of Italy, namely Rome. It's the Colosseum. Thousands of tourists come to see it. The Colosseum is a really important site for the Roman Empire. Emperor Vespasian began its construction in 72 AD, and it was completed in 80 AD during the reign of Titus. Later, some changes were made during the Domitian period. The Colosseum is made of travertine limestone, tuff, and brick-lined concrete. It was able to accommodate about 50,000 to 80,000 spectators at various periods of its history. The emperors organized very cruel entertainments such as gladiatorial combats to entertain the Roman people, as well as themselves. In addition, there were many folk shows, naval battles, animal hunts, executions, and games based on classical mythology. When you visit the Colosseum, you will feel like you have been teleported to the Ancient Roman Empire. Wandering around this grand structure gives you goosebumps. I have always been very excited to sit and walk around the buildings where ancient people lived. I would really like to visit there.

Also, there is a famous fountain in Rome: the Trevi Fountain. It was designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by architects such as Giuseppe Pannini. With a height of 26.3 meters and a width of 49.15 meters, it is the largest Baroque fountain in Rome. The Trevi Fountain, which fascinates those who see it, is adorned with sculptures, reliefs, and patterns. When the story of the work is examined, it is seen that Neptune, the god of water and seas in Roman mythology, is located in the central part. Neptune has two seahorses—one docile and the other aggressive—and two tritons holding these sea horses. On the left side of Neptune, the god of water and seas, there is a statue of a goddess representing abundance. This building, which many tourists love, seems as if it came out of a fairy tale. At the same time, there are many beautiful museums in this country where famous Renaissance artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, and Michelangelo lived. Especially, the Galleria Doria Pamphilj is a must-see museum. Once you're in there, you won't want to leave. Besides, Venice, a canal city traveled by boat, should definitely be seen. This city, like no other in the world, excites me.

In addition to all these, Italy is a country that is highly praised for its cuisine. This country, famous for its pizza and pasta, is at the top of the list of the most beautiful cuisines in the world. Italian food culture includes fruits, vegetables, meats, and delicious sauces. Overall, meals are quick and easy to prepare, and the quality of the ingredients matters, which Italian chefs are particularly proud of. This cuisine, which is light, flavorful, and delicious, attracts people's attention.
