A little 10-year-old girl named Lydia was playing ball with her friends one day when she missed the ball, sending it rolling downhill. As she went to retrieve it, she noticed a note folded in half on the ground. The note read: “Tomorrow at 14:00 in front of the toy store.” Lydia ran to her friends and showed them the note. Karina, a brave and inquisitive girl, immediately suggested they go there tomorrow.
Drew was initially sceptical. After all, they didn’t know who wrote the note, and it could be dangerous. However, when their other friends, Sara and Edward, agreed to go, he was convinced. They all went home, eagerly anticipating the next day. Lydia could hardly sleep from excitement.
The next day, everyone arrived in front of the toy store on time. They looked around and saw a teddy bear lying on the ground. The teddy bear was holding a note tied with rope. Lydia opened it and began to read. The note said, “If you received this note, you have accomplished something, children.” Was someone playing tricks on them? They were all confused, as there was nothing explanatory in the note. Edward picked up the teddy bear to examine it, while Sara found a 9-digit code on the ground where the teddy bear had been placed. The code was: 6-18-9-5-14-4-19-8-9-16. Only Drew could crack this code. Karina took out her notebook from her pocket and began to write down the numbers, tearing off the paper and handing it to Drew. All they could do was waiting patiently until Drew cracked the code.
Two days later, Drew called all his friends outside. He had found the password. He announced that the code spelled F-R-I-E-N-D-S-H-I-P. They pondered its meaning, and finally, Karina remembered a lesson from school about where friendships could be formed. They immediately decided to go to school, as they were all in the same class. They checked their lockers, their desks—everywhere they could.
Finally, Sara and Edward found two pieces of paper torn in half. It didn't take long for them to realize that the two papers complemented each other. They took tape from the closet and taped them together. It was a map. The starting point was their neighbourhood, but the important thing was the ending point. There was also a note on the back of the map that read: “Young people, you've done a good job so far. Congratulations to all of you. You have one last note left.” They decided to follow this map the next day to make it more exciting.
In the morning, they started following the map, believing that the destination was the park they always visited. They grew tired and decided to rest for a while. Edward's mother had made them cupcakes, and as they ate, they wondered where the adventure would lead them. Without wasting much time, they continued on their way and indeed arrived at the park they had anticipated. However, when they looked around, no one was there. There was nothing to attract their attention. They felt disappointed, thinking they had come all this way for nothing. Demoralized, they tried to entertain themselves. Karina and Sara were riding the seesaw while Lydia watched.
Then Lydia noticed a large red marking on the ground near the seesaw where Karina was sitting. She called out to her friends and hurried toward the seesaw. Everyone was excited. They brought shovels with them and quickly began digging.
They found a chest and opened it. Inside was a letter that read: “Hi guys, you've done so well so far and have reached the end of the road. Congratulations to all of you for continuing your journey and never giving up. We hope you've learned how important friendship is along the way. We created this because we wanted to entertain you a bit. I hope you had fun.
Your rewards are at the bottom of the letter.” These letters were written by their families, who loved them very much. At the bottom of the letter, there were separate badges for each of them, with their names written on them, as well as some money. After hugging each other tightly, they went to the market next to the park. They bought food and drinks with the money and had a picnic, playing games in the park. As it started to get dark, they made their way home. Once they were back, they all thanked their families. Thus, they learned the value of each other and the importance of perseverance, patience, and friendship at a young age.
