Photography: A Passion for Life

I can say that my love of photography started with my sister. When I was little, I admired the photos my sister took, but I could never take them as well as she could. She would ask me to take a picture of her, but she didn't like it because I couldn't take good pictures like her. It was my dream to be able to take good pictures. We went to Balıkesir as a family for a holiday. It was a small place by the beach, away from the big tall buildings of the city that blocked the beauty of the sky. Just in the afternoon, when the sun rubbed its golden rays on our faces and the clear water of the sea touched our feet in a gentle way, the view was beautiful with the sounds of birds coming from the trees that carried the most beautiful shade of green. My sister asked me to take a photo of her. Photographing that peaceful moment made me feel very happy and free.

From that day on, I gained my sister's trust in the photographs I took—at least that's what I thought. This thought increased my self-confidence while taking pictures. I believed that I could capture those beautiful moments shown to my eyes. I started to think about and work on how I could better photograph what I saw everywhere I went. I began to draw small neighbourhoods decorated with colourful cars, people with different styles, birds embraced by the blue sky, rainwater that looked like beads on flowers, and even a simple carpet motif. I felt motivated as I clicked the shutter. Capturing the moment made me feel full of happiness, as if I could live the moment again. I wanted to show people the world through my eyes. After a while, my phone's camera started to perform poorly. I wished I had a phone with a better camera. After all, I was a photographer now.

Seeing myself like this sometimes makes me feel like someone who has grown up and has increased responsibilities but still takes on those responsibilities. It's nice to feel that way. Nowadays, it feels better to shoot more video memories because watching those videos takes me back to those nice and funny moments spent with my friends—unforgettable days spent with my family. It's the happiest thing to keep them on my phone and watch them when I'm bored.
